Suki entered our lives two years ago.
Stoke-on-Trent did seem an awfully long way to be going to see a dog we had some doubts about. True, she had the advantage of being a Springer Spaniel, but she was one short in the leg department (on account of running into a ditch a year earlier).
It took well under a minute for the three of us to be sufficiently charmed to take her on.
They said ‘she’s a little star’ – and indeed she is.
To avoid any possible confusion with our youngest, we renamed her from Louise to Suki.
I assumed that a 3-legged dog would spend all its time on the ground floor – a notion quickly dispelled by the fast-moving blur of her running up and down the stairs.
