One of the nice things about being an occasional zoo visitor is that you can pretty much guarantee that any particular visit will throw up a brand new animal – or demonstrate a familiar one in a new light.
Perhaps they will be doing something other than sleeping, perhaps the enclosure’s refurbishment will have been completed, perhaps the enclosure will be just that little bit more open.
So it was with the red pandas at Chester Zoo. I found myself entranced by these furry and – there is no other word for it – unbearably cute creatures
It seemed to me that they are yet to decide whether to be bears, or cats
The keeper said that these two specimens were getting on
