Raggie James (6 June 1968 to 10 March 2015) was singer and frontman of tribute band Rainbow Rising.
I discovered news of his way-too-early death on the band’s facebook page:
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to convey the news that our beloved singer and dearest personal friend, Mark (Raggie) Slack has suddenly passed away.
We are all devastated and heartbroken at such a loss and everyone who knew and loved him will share our sorrow as he was not only an amazing singer and frontman but also one of the most genuine and good natured guys you could ever hope to meet.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences are conveyed to his family, friends and most of all to his partner and soulmate Rachael.
We will always remember Raggie for his joie de vivre, infectious sense of humour and the great times we shared on the road. He had this rare gift of making people he never met before feel like they knew him all their lives and whenever he hit that stage he gave it his all, always with his massive trademark grin – a true professional who lived for and loved performing and bringing joy to everyone who saw him with Rainbow Rising, The Blackmore Legacy and Box O Snakes.
You will be missed beyond imagination dear brother. Farewell for now until we meet again xx
